4-H Poultry and Rabbit Club By Grant Sanderson, 4-H Reporter The Meeker 4-H Poultry and Rabbit club, The Cackling Hoppers, met on March 22.

Toby Casias won the 100- and 200-meter dashes last Saturday in Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction at the annual Frank Woodburn Invitational track meet. Casias’ top placing helped his team finish seventh in a field of 15 teams, featuring mostly 3A, 4A and 5A schools.

Open for the summer season

The ERBM Recreation and Park District has announced that the archery range and Fay Action (skateboarding) Park are now open. Both are open to the public during daylight hours, at no charge, throughout the summer season.

Rio Blanco County Days Gone By

The Meeker Herald — 125 years ago ~ Eleven inches of snow has fallen since April 1 and 7 feet minus 2 inches since Nov. 6. The lowest estimate is 4,000 dead animals on the range. There will be no dividends for White River cattle companies this year.

Aero Club fundraiser

Former Meeker High School graduate Marcus Kindall, now a student/pilot at Colorado Northwestern Community College, and several of his fellow Aero Club members were in Meeker Sunday for a Meeker Lions Club Bingo fundraiser.
