Meeker Elementary gym reopens

MEEKER I After more than a month, the gym at the new Meeker Elementary School has reopened. The gym was closed Oct. 6 because of safety concerns after it was discovered the east wall had shifted away from the roof. The gym remained closed while repairs were made.

Soup kitchen opens with Thanksgiving

MEEKER I Traditionally, a free community dinner has been held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Thanksgiving. This year, the free Thanksgiving dinner will be offered again, from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Holy Family, 889 Park.

On Oct. 23, two dozen parishioners from St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Grand Junction carpooled to Rangely to help members of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church spruce up its grounds.
