Run for Your Life 2011

MEEKER |  Since 1979, locals and visitors alike have gathered in the early morning hours on July 4 for another kind of parade — the Run for Your Life 5K walk/run. In the last 30-plus years the annual race has grown to encompass hundreds of participants from all age groups.

Thwarted bank robbery comes to life at Range Call

MEEKER I Every year, a dedicated bunch of Meeker locals return to the scene of the crime: the 1896 attempted armed robbery of Meeker’s bank. While none of the actors were alive back then, many of them can trace their family history back to the original participants.

Loose Ends: This is not what we remember

The following column appeared in the Herald Times before the Utes returned to the White River Valley and it caused many people to talk about the future of the Meeker Pageant. Some questioned my reasoning and tried to turn it into an “us vs. them” argument.
