Gail Schofield, 68, long-time resident of Rangely, died Dec. 30, 2010 in Denver, Colo., following a lengthy struggle with Parkinson’s disease.

Lakeside Cafe opens again
After a two-year hiatus, the Lakeside Cafe at Kenney Reservoir is open again. Lisa Hodges opened the Lakeside Cafe before Memorial Day weekend. It will open each week on Thursdays through the weekend.
Fun with beef
RANGELY I For the last few days, we have been making beef jerky. It was a lot of fun! We were each given about 10 pieces of beef. We had to marinade it with a certain “Hawaiian” marinade, then we were allowed to add additional seasonings to our meat!

Rangely elementary students interview seniors
About three weeks ago, these students undertook a writing project wherein each child interviewed a senior citizen at the Radino Senior Nutrition site. Their assignment was to prepare a biography booklet with information gleaned from the interview. The kids worked really hard on their projects.
