Washburns named as grand marshals
MEEKER I The kids of Meeker High School (MHS) chose Mary and Mike Washburn to be their Homecoming parade grand marshals last week out of respect and honor for the tireless help the two have given Meeker youth through the years.
Homecoming weeks end Saturday
RBC I Meeker and Rangely high school Homecoming Week activities are well underway with the respective Homecoming dances on Saturday night culminating the week’s events.
MHS Homecoming fun begins Monday
MEEKER I The Meeker High School Student Council is in charge of Homecoming Week, which begins Monday, and, according to MHS Head Girl Madeline Amack, co-president of the council, big plans are in the works. The theme for the whole week is “Sci-Fi!”
Homecoming events under way at MHS
MEEKER I Homecoming activities are happening all week at Meeker High School. Events started Monday and culminate in a volleyball match and Homecoming dance Saturday.
Alice in Wonderland…
Also taking part in the 2013 Meeker High School homecoming parade was a float that contained the cast of “Alice in Wonderland,” a play that is being sponsored by the ERBM Recreation District in Meeker.

The senior class float carried out the theme of “Las Vegas Style” for the homecoming parade on Friday afternoon down Main Street. Running the roulette wheel, from left to right, were Taylor Neilson, John Mac Sheridan and Mariah Jensen while Deena Norell walked alongside.

New tradition…
In a new ceremony during halftime of Friday night’s homecoming football came against Cedaredge, the new “Flaming M” was set afire after being wrapped with donated sheets from Tuesday’s Toga Day activities at Meeker High School.
