Meeker Elementary School’s Wyatt Pfau won a state wrestling title last weekend in Denver, winning the 70-pound, 8-and-under bracket. BMS sixth-grader Devon Pontine finished fourth and TJ Shelton was one match from placing. Shelton’s younger brother Jake and Chase Rule also qualified for and competed in the state meet, but did not place.

MEEKER I Bob Omer’s last day on the job was Friday. The outgoing CEO of Pioneers Medical Center announced his resignation in January to “pursue other opportunities in health care management.” Meanwhile, a new chief executive officer, Ken Huey, is on board at the hospital, at least temporarily.
