Scouts demonstrate community service

Dear Editor: The Bureau of Land Management’s White River Field Office would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Rangely Boy Scout Troop 150 and Scoutmaster David Morton for their service in performing a trash clean-up Aug. 9 of Texas Beach along the White River, west of Rangely.

Rangely Community Gardens

The Rangely Community Gardens (RCG) held an open house last Saturday to honor the founders of the project, started in 2009 and recognize the many contributors who donated to the project.

Vision help for people 55 and older

RANGELY | Thanks to a generous American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the Independent Living Center is pleased to make available, at no charge, low vision assessments and assistive technology assessments in our Rio Blanco County service area for people aged 55 or more who have significant vision loss.

The anticipated showdown between Rio Blanco County’s two undefeated coed softball teams, defending champion Ace Trucking (pictured right) and the Rangely Merchants was played in Meeker Thursday. Aug. 11.

Letter to the Editor: Rangely pool closed

Dear Editor: I am writing this letter to inform Western Rio Blanco Recreation and Park District residents that the swimming pool at the Recreation Center will be closed starting Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, and will reopen Monday, Aug. 22, 2011.
