Rio Blanco County Days Gone By

The Meeker Herald — 100 years ago • Enterprising Al Strehlke of the City Drug Store held his annual ice cream and fountain opening Saturday, and in spite of unfavorable weather it was a pronounced success.

Meeker’s long-standing fast food provider has closed its doors. To the dismay of residents and visitors alike, Clark’s Big Burger on Market Street is no longer. Meekerites will miss the burgers, fries, jalapeno poppers, shakes and soft-serve ice cream.
