Rio Blanco County Days Gone By
The Meeker Herald — 75 years ago March 7, 1935 • Everett Rector, Rangely pioneer, was severely burned when carbide gas from his lighting system exploded. It seems that after retiring for night, Mr. Rector thought he smelled a gas odor. When he struck a match there was an explosion.
