RANGELY I The Rangely High School boys’ basketball team will open its season with a new head coach in the White River Electric Association’s Cowboy Shootout tournament in Meeker, starting tonight.

Members of the Rangely High School boys’ basketball team started the summer on Monday with a morning of fun, shooting 500 free throws each. As team members move into the summer, this becomes a fund-raiser event to help with travel costs as they head to various tournaments. A total of 1,791 shots were made Monday, however they came up a little short on donations and would appreciate any support. Please contact Rangely High School if you would like to add you support. Cagers, grapplers of Meeker, Rangely getting back in action

RBC I Winter sports for Rio Blanco County high schools will begin the 2015 portion of their winter sports schedules tonight with wrestling and home court basketball action in Meeker and Rangely on Friday.

Rangely cagers open season with win

RANGELY I The Rangely boys’ basketball team opened the season in the annual White River Electric Cowboy Shootout in Meeker and won one of three games during the event.

BMS/RMS district basketball tournament…

The Rangely Middle School cheerleaders Bailey Stephens, Twila Jackson, KK Wyman, Susie Gillard and Tiffany Holmes, have been cheering their teams this season and will continue to lead the spirit at the annual middle school district basketball tournament Saturday in Meeker.



It was announced at the recent Rangely High School boys’ basketball banquet that the Western Slope League honorably mentioned junior Cameron Enterline and named classmate Connor Phelan to the first team Western Slope All-Conference team for their play during the season.

Panthers lose league games to Eagles, Bulldogs

RANGELY I The Rangely Panthers lost league games last weekend to Paonia (53-57) at home, then in Hotchkiss to the Bulldogs (47-54) and will play in Meeker for the final game of the regular season this Friday.

Lady Panthers win two league games

Rangely High School sophomore Jess Tolley holds her painting of a snow leopard, which was chosen to be included in the annual Celebrating Art publication last year. Tolley’s pencil drawing of an angel was selected for this year’s publication.

RANGELY I The lady Panthers basketball team won two league games last weekend defeating the lady Tigers (49-35) in Hayden last Friday then beating the lady Rams from Soroco (36-29) at home Saturday last. The lady Panthers will travel to Vail this Saturday to play Vail Christian.
